Twenty Years Specializing in Air Pollution Control by Catalysis, SCR NOx Reduction, and Platinum Group Metals Technologies and Markets. Our Materials Characterization and Catalyst Development Laboratory performs Novel Research, Benchmarking and Catalytic Activity Testing.

Catalyst Performance Testing

Environex’s operates several modern test benches for performance testing of SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalysts, CO (Carbon Monoxide) oxidation catalysts, Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC) and Three-way Catalysts (TWC) to determine NOx reduction, CO oxidation, and hydrocarbon conversion capabilities.

Catalyst Types

Performance testing is done on a variety of catalytic materials including: washcoated ceramic or metal honeycomb catalysts, honeycomb extrudates, plate catalysts, paper catalysts, fiber-glass supports, filters, pellets, trilobes, or beads.

Applications

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) , Carbon Monoxide (CO) Oxidation, from low to high temperatures with short or long residence times. Monitoring of catalyst activity and comparison to plant data is a unique and essential service to give reliable catalyst management advice.

Testing Conditions

The test reactor’s temperatures mimic real-world operating conditions. Testing conditions are created using mass flow controllers, preheaters and a furnace (in which the reactor chamber sits). The mass flow controllers and heaters are controlled by computer.  Gases (including carbon monoxide gas and nitrous oxide gas) are mixed in a chamber by a ceramic static mixer. the product gases are conditioned for the analyzer bench. Gas is cooled and dried. The outlet concentration of CO or NOx is measured and recorded for storage in the computer data base. Frequent calibration ensures accuracy.
