PGM Refining

From Mineral Processing to Pure Metal
The platinum group metals occur in combination in the ores from which they are recovered. Platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium and osmium are found together with nickel, cobalt, copper and chrome. The technologies for separating and purifying the metals involve complex chemistry and process technologies. Environex has specialized in the safe chemistry and environmentally friendly process technologies for separating and refining these precious metals for the past two decades.
New Technology Development
Environex continually innovates and improves PGM refining technology, and has been responsible for the research, design and commercialization of new and improved separation and purification technologies, such as selective ion exchange, chemical reduction, electrolysis, solvent extraction and improved recycle of effluents for over 20 years.
PGM Recycle Technology
Our laboratory technologists and process engineers offer special skills in the recovery of spent PGM materials. We develop tailor made technologies for robust, cost effective and high yield recovery processes of PGMs . Recycling of PGM's lowers the net cost PGM's in the chemical and petrochemical industries and is an growing component of the PGM's available for reuse in emission control.
